Chennai Traffic Police announced take diversions today

Chennai: The Chennai Metro Rail Limited has planned to commence Phase II works (Elevated Corridor) from Kodambakkam Power House to Porur junction in the jurisdiction of Traffic South district. Due to this reason on 17.08.2021 at morning 06.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. the following traffic diversion will be implemented on a trial basis. There is no diversion for the vehicles which are coming from Porur to Kodambakkam Bridge.

Traffic on Arcot road from 80 feet road junction to Kodambakkam Power House junction is one way. Vehicles which are coming from Kodambakkam Bridge intended to go to Saligramam and Porur should take a compulsory left at Power House junction and reach their destination via Ambedkar Salai- Ashok Nagar Police Station junction right – 2nd Avenue junction – Straight -P.T.Rajan Salai – Raja Mannar Salai – 80 feet Road -Arcot Road then go to Porur.

Vehicles that are coming from Kodambakkam Bridge intended to go to Vadapalani junction should take a compulsory left at Power House junction and reach their destination via Ambedkar Salai- Ashok Nagar Police Station junction right – 2nd Avenue junction – right – J.N. 100 feet Road towards Vadapalani junction.

Vehicles that are coming from Porur are intended to go to K.K. Nagar will be allowed to take right at 80 Feet Road and take left to Rajamannar Salai and Rajamannar Salai x PT Rajan Junction left turn then go to KK Nagar, Udayam Junction. Vehicles that are coming from Ashok Pillar intended to go to Kodambakkam Bridge are not allowed to proceed straight at Ashok Nagar Police station junction. Instead of that the vehicles should take a compulsory left and take right at Ashok Nagar 2nd Avenue Junction (Lakshman Suruthi Jn.) X JN 100 Feet Road and reach their destination via Kodambakkam Post Office.

Vehicles that are coming from Vadapalni junction intended to go to T.Nagar take right at Duraisamy salai junction, Durisamy Salai, Ashok Nagar 2nd Avenue Road, then straight to 8th Street and take left at Ashok Nagar 3rd Avenue Junction then reach T.Nagar via Ashok Nagar 4th Avenue Junction. Vehicles which are coming from K.K.Nagar intended to go to 100 feet road is not allowed to take right at Raja Mannar Salai junction. Instead of that the vehicles take left and reach 100 feet road via 80 feet Road, Arcot road.

Vehicles coming from Vannier street are not allowed to go straight in Raja Mannar Salai from 80 feet Road junction. Instead of that the vehicles take left at 80 feet road junction and reach Arcot Road or Munusamy salai via KK Nagar, Udayam. Vehicles that are coming from Koyambedu intended to go to Ashok Pillar are not allowed to go straight at Vadapalani junction service Road. Instead of that the vehicles take left at Vadapalani junction service road and reach Powerhouse junction, then take right and reach Ashok Pillar via Ambedkar Salai.

Heavy Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles which are coming from Saligramam intended to go to Kodambakkam Flyover should take a compulsory left lane on the one-way traffic of Arcot Road. Similarly, Motor Cycles and LMV vehicles should take the right lane on the one-way traffic. Heavy vehicles and Commercial Vehicles should not take the right lane on the one-way traffic stretch.
