Siliguri: On 15.11.21, at around 7.30 pm, while Civic Volunteer Mr. Raja Oraon and Driver Mr. Susanta Sarkar were returning to the Mallaguri Police Lines, they saw a pregnant woman lying helplessly, in a painful condition along the road. They immediately called RI Siliguri, Inspector Mr. Aman Reza for help who hurriedly dispatched the Police Ambulance from police lines. The said CV and the driver rushed the pregnant lady, in the ambulance, to the District Hospital, Siliguri where the doctors responded quickly.
Meanwhile IC Siliguri, Inspector Mr. Sudip Chakraborty also rushed to the hospital with the members of Unique Foundation to provide any further support and help.
Blessedly, the lady gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Her health is also in good condition. She was later identified as one Stelan Tamang from Kalimpong. Her family is being contacted further.
