Andhra Pradesh: DGP Mr. Gautam Sawang IPS has been transferred. In his place, the Jagan government has appointed Mr. Kasireddy Rajendranath Reddy IPS, the former intelligence DG, as the new DGP. The state government on Tuesday issued orders to this effect. Mr. Rajendranath Reddy IPS will assume full additional responsibilities as DGP. However, the government has instructed Mr. Sawang to report to the GAD until further orders.
Mr. Kasireddy Venkata Rajendranath Reddy IPS, newly appointed DGP, is a 1992 batch IPS officer. Mr. Rajendranath Reddy is currently the DGP of Intelligence. Mr. Rajendranath Reddy has been in this post since May 2020. He has previously served as Vijayawada Police Commissioner and served as Hyderabad West IG, East Zone DCP. He has served as Vijayawada Railway SP and Vijayawada City Police Commissioner in various capacities. Prior to taking over as Chief of Intelligence, he held positions such as Director General, Vigilance and Enforcement, and Principal Secretary to Government Ex-Officio GAD.

He took up the Police responsibilities in 1986 as Director General of Police (DJP). He was appointed as Andhra Pradesh State DGP in May 2019. Mr. Sawang IPS is the best DGP in the country for the year 2021.
