Karauli: Religious clashes erupted in Karauli, Rajasthan on Saturday. Congratulations are pouring in from the people for the adventure of Police Constable Mr. Netresh Sharma at that time. The clash started when some stones were thrown during the New Year’s Day rally. Mr. Netresh Sharma, who was on duty there at the time, helped the injured. He rushed them to the hospital. Mr. Netresh’s rescue of a woman and her baby from a house between two shops on fire has gone viral on the internet.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Mr. Netresh Sharma simply said, “It is my responsibility.” However, the Rajasthan Police Department is proud of their constable’s courage. On the other hand, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot himself phoned Mr. Netresh after the matter came to his notice. Not only that it has been announced that Netresh, who is a constable, is being promoted as a head constable.
As soon as the clashes broke out, the police were able to control the situation by imposing limited restrictions on the Internet and Section 144. Police have arrested 46 people in connection with the clashes. Seven people have been arrested and are being questioned in connection with the stoning incident. On the other hand, a three-member committee on behalf of the government is preparing to take up the matter with regard to the clashes. This includes MLAs Jitendra Singh and Rafiq Khan.
