Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR): The arrest of Top Maoist leader resulted in surrender of cadres in large numbers. Andhra Pradesh Police arrested top Maoist leader Vanthala Rama Krishna alias Prabhakar alias Ashok alias Goddali Rayudu, the Area Committee Secretary (ACS) of Paddeabayalu-Korukonda area of CPI (Maoist) Party in Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district.
He carries a reward of Rs.5 Lakh. Police seized Rs.39 Lakhs cash, a mine weighing 5 Kg, detonators-5 Nos., 9 mm pistol with 9 rounds & Maoist party literature from him.33 Party Members (PM) of Korukonda Area Committee, 27 Militia Members have also surrendered before Andhra Pradesh Police, which Displays the weakening base of Maoist Party due to the developmental activities taken up by the Government and people are vexed with the outdated ideology of the Maoist Party. Andhra Pradesh DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy, IPS appeals all Maoists party cadres to surrender and join the mainstream to lead normal life and also to avail the benefits of ‘Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy’ of the Government.
