Bathinda, Punjab – May 2025: Reaffirming their unwavering resolve to eliminate drug menace from society, the Bathinda Police held a high-level district meeting led by Special DGP (PSPCL), DIG Bathinda Range, and SSP Bathinda. The meeting brought together all Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) from across the district to chart out an aggressive action plan for drug eradication.
In line with Punjab Police’s ongoing mission of a “Nasha Mukt Samaj” (Drug-Free Society), detailed discussions were held on intensifying operations against drug peddlers and pushing for arrests at all levels. Officers were directed to identify drug hotspots, dismantle distribution networks, and act swiftly to uproot drug trafficking from its very roots.
A key focus of the meeting was the rehabilitation of individuals battling addiction. Officials emphasized the importance of ensuring that those affected by substance abuse are admitted to de-addiction and rehabilitation centers for proper treatment, support, and reintegration into society.
To further bolster the anti-drug campaign, it was decided to expand public awareness initiatives through schools, colleges, community meetings, and digital platforms. The goal is to educate the youth and the wider community on the dangers of drugs and encourage active public participation in the fight against narcotics.
The leadership reiterated that the fight against drugs cannot be waged by the police alone. “This is a collective battle, and it is only through community partnership, awareness, and joint action that we can secure a safer and healthier future,” the officers stated.
The Bathinda Police remain fully committed to safeguarding public health and safety and continue to lead by example in Punjab’s larger war on drugs.
