Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu, May 22, 2025: Reaffirming its commitment to community outreach and social empowerment, the Ariyalur District Police conducted a comprehensive awareness program on women’s safety, social harmony, and rights of marginalized communities. The event was held at the Ariyalur Government Employment Office for students currently undergoing skill training for government job preparation.
The initiative was organized under the directive of District Superintendent of Police Dr. Deepak Sivaach, I.P.S., and the guidance of Additional SP Mr. Muthamizhselvan, with active participation from the District Social Justice and Human Rights Wing and the District Anti-Child Trafficking Unit.
The program focused on sensitizing youth to the constitutional rights of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), protection mechanisms under the law, and various welfare schemes including educational scholarships, vocational training, and financial assistance through TAHDCO and other government-supported loan programs.
Participants were urged to promote social unity, equality, and actively reject discrimination and untouchability. Pamphlets detailing state and central government welfare schemes were distributed to enhance awareness.
Special attention was also given to women’s and children’s safety laws, including the POCSO Act and child marriage prohibition laws. Students were educated about the various helpline numbers available for immediate support:
