Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, May 2025: In a commendable display of swift and coordinated policing, the Dindigul District Police have successfully apprehended a motorcycle thief who had been causing concern across the region. This operation comes following a directive issued by Superintendent of Police, Shri Pradeep, to crack down on the rising incidents of two-wheeler thefts in the district.
Special Police Team Formed
Acting on the SP’s instructions, a special investigation team was constituted under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Karthik. The team comprised Inspector Venkatajalapathy, Sub-Inspector Sarathkumar, Crime Branch Special Sub-Inspectors: Veerapandian and George Edward, Head Constables: Radhakrishnan, Mohammed Ali, Viswasam, and Sakthivel.
Accused Arrested and Vehicles Recovered
The dedicated efforts of this team led to the arrest of Surya Prakash, son of Singathevar, a resident of South Street, behind Kaliamman Temple, Wattalakundu. The accused had been stealthily stealing motorcycles and was operating without raising suspicion. Upon his arrest, the police seized four stolen motorcycles, bringing relief to the affected vehicle owners.
