Madurai, Tamil Nadu: A high-level consultation meeting was held at the Kandasastha Hall in the premises of the Thiruparankundram Subramaniyaswamy Temple to review and plan security arrangements for the upcoming Vaikasi Visakha festival, which draws lakhs of devotees each year.
The meeting was presided over by Thirumangalam Kottakshiar Ms. Shalini. It was attended by Temple Co-Commissioner Mr. Surya Narayanan, temple officials, officers from the Police and Fire Departments, and other key stakeholders.
Key decisions included:
Deployment of over 500 police personnel for crowd control and safety.
Standby fire truck arrangements to handle any emergencies.
Preparations on Kirivalam Road and Four Chariot Roads to manage large-scale foot traffic.
Special buses to be operated by the Transport Department for the convenience of devotees.
The collective effort aims to ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually uplifting experience for all pilgrims visiting during the Vaikasi Visakha celebrations. The absence of temple trustees at the meeting was also observed.
