Udupi, Karnataka: In a determined operation, the Udupi District Police successfully arrested Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, accused in a Brahmavar Police Station case, on 21st August 2025 at Ujire village in Belthangady taluk, Dakshina Kannada district.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of senior officers, with a police team led by Prakash, District Armed Reserve Police Force, who also serves as bodyguard to the Hon’ble Additional Superintendent of Police. Timarodi was taken into custody around 10:45 a.m.
During the arrest, over 50 of Timarodi’s supporters gathered and attempted to obstruct the police team by following their convoy in multiple vehicles. A white Swift car (KA70-M-3048) repeatedly rammed into a departmental vehicle, and another vehicle (KA20-G-0669) was later struck from behind, causing damage and resulting in minor injuries to a police officer inside.
Despite the resistance and reckless behavior of the accused’s supporters, the police team maintained composure, ensured law and order, and successfully transported the accused via Ujire, Belthangady, Guruvayankare, and Naravi to Brahmavar.
A case has been registered at Karkala Rural Police Station against the accused persons — Srujan L., Hitesh, and Sahan — under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code 2023 and the PDLP Act.

This firm and efficient action by the Udupi District Police demonstrates their commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring that no individual is above the law.
