Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Island: In a landmark judgment, a Special POCSO Court at Sri Vijayapuram sentence d Kishov Ojha to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 for the sexual assault of a 4-year-old child. The verdict has been widely hailed as a strong message against crimes targeting children.
The conviction was made possible through the exemplary efforts of the Andaman & Nicobar Police. Then Station House Officer of Police Station Ograbraj, SI Devanand Pathak, and Investigating Officer SI Arti Roy were commended for their dedicated and sensitive handling of the case. Their meticulous evidence collection and swift legal follow-up ensured an unshakable case against the accused.
Special Public Prosecutor Ms. Tasneem effectively argued the case, securing justice for the young survivor.
