Thrissur, Kerala: The Special Investigation Team (SIG) of Thrissur City Police, in coordination with the East Police Station, achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two accused persons involved in creating a terrorist atmosphere by hurling explosives at Jai Hind Market on September 28, 2025, around 7 PM.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjay Nixon (23), of Pallan, Nedupuzha, and Adithyan (19), of Irippil, Peruvankulangara, Ollur. Acting on specific intelligence, the SIG squad tracked down and apprehended the accused from Peruvankulangara.
The case was registered under the Explosive Substances Act after Inspector MJ Jijo received credible information linking the act to individuals connected with the recently acquitted murder case of Dorai Babu reported at Nedupuzha Police Station. Investigations revealed that Sanjay Nixon is also an accused in two earlier cases at Ollur Police Station.
The arrests were made under the overall supervision of Commissioner of Police Shri Elango RAPS and Assistant Commissioner KG Suresh. The investigation team comprised Inspector MJ Jijo, Sub-Inspector Bipin P. Nair, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pradeshish, CPO Ajmal, along with SIG members ASI P.K. Palaniswamy, CPOs Saji Chandran, K. Krishna Prasad, K.B. Suneep, Regina C. Rajan, P.T. Simpson, C. Sreejith, P.J. Naijon, and K. Arun.
This swift and coordinated action by Thrissur Police has once again reinforced their commitment to public safety and zero tolerance towards acts of terror and violence.
