Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, October 09, 2025: In a commendable effort toward promoting reformative justice and social responsibility, the District Police Doda, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh, secured a community service sentence against an individual involved in a public nuisance case.
The accused, Sajad Hussain, son of Mohd. Yousuf of Village Kandolu Hazari, Tehsil Gandoh, was found guilty under Section 355 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for creating a disturbance in the Kandolu Bhargi Market area due to alcohol consumption and misconduct.
After a fair trial, the Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (JMIC), Gandoh, sentenced the accused to seven days of community service at the Sub-District Hospital Gandoh, to be performed from October 10 to 16, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 01:00 PM daily.
This marks the second instance of community service sentencing in Gandoh this year, reflecting the progressive policing approach that prioritizes rehabilitation over punishment.
Under the supervision of SSP Shri Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, and the leadership of Inspector Farooq Katoch, SHO, Police Station Gandoh, the police continue to uphold principles of lawful conduct, community harmony, and behavioral reform, ensuring a safer and more disciplined society in Doda district.
