Imphal West, Manipur, October 18, 2025: In a major success against insurgent activities, Security Forces arrested an active woman cadre of the banned outfit KCP (PWG) during an operation conducted under Singjamei Police Station limits in Imphal West district.
The arrested individual has been identified as Meikam Basantarani Devi (42), alias Abenao, a resident of Uripok Laikhurembi Leikai, presently residing at Pishum Oinam Leikai, Imphal West district.
According to police sources, the woman cadre was actively involved in extortion activities and was found to be mediating between parties in loan recovery and land dispute cases through threats and intimidation, thereby aiding the unlawful operations of the banned organization.
During the operation, the security team seized a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card from her possession.
Preliminary investigations have revealed her sustained involvement with KCP (PWG) operatives and her role in facilitating extortion networks in the Imphal region.
The arrested accused has been handed over to Singjamei Police Station for further investigation and legal action under relevant provisions of law.
The operation reflects the continuing efforts of security forces to curb the influence of outlawed organizations and maintain peace and security in Manipur.
