Rachakonda, Telangana, October 23, 2025: Demonstrating exemplary professionalism and swift action, the Pocharam IT Corridor Police, under the Rachakonda Commissionerate, successfully solved an attempted murder case within just 12 hours of the incident. The accused, involved in a shooting incident near Yamnampet, Ghatkesar, were swiftly tracked and arrested through coordinated efforts by multiple police teams.
The case was registered under the Arms Act, 1959, involved a gun attack on Bidla Prashanth Kumar @ Sonu Singh (age 29), a resident of Rampally, Keesara, who sustained a bullet injury on his chest.
Incident Details
On October 22, 2025, around 5:00 PM, the victim was allegedly called to a meeting near Yamnampet by his acquaintance Kuruva Srinivas. Upon reaching the spot, he was confronted by Mohammad Ibrahim Qureshi, Mohammad Haneef Qureshi, and Hassanbin Mosin. A heated argument ensued over the victim’s reported efforts to expose illegal cattle transportation operations. During the altercation, Ibrahim retrieved a firearm from his car and opened fire, injuring the victim on the right side of his chest.
Police patrol teams immediately reached the spot, shifted the injured to Sarikara Hospital, Medipally, and later to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad for advanced medical care. Due to the timely intervention of the patrol and Blue Colt teams, the victim’s life was saved. A pellet was surgically extracted from his body by the attending doctors.
Swift Action and Arrests
Upon receiving the complaint from Smt. Bidla Radhika, mother of the victim, special police teams were formed under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Shri G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, and the close guidance of DCP Malkajgiri Zone, Smt. P.V. Padmaja, IPS, Addl. DCPs Venkatya Ramana and SOT Team, and ACP Malkajgiri Division, Shri S. Chakrapani.
Through continuous tracking, surveillance, and field intelligence, the police arrested three of the four accused within 12 hours of the incident at Shamshabad in the early hours of October 23, 2025.
The Arrested Accused are:
Mohammad Ibrahim Qureshi (24 years) – Cattle Transport Business, Bandlaguda
Kuruva Srinivas (29 years) – Agriculturist, Shabad
Hassanbin Mosin (22 years) – Cattle Transport Business, Kalapathar, Makka Colony
Mohammad Haneef Qureshi, 34 years, Rajendranagar – absconding, efforts on to trace him.
The Seized Property includes:
* One country-made pistol
* One Swift car (Reg. No. AP-09 CK 4788, Grey)
* Three mobile phones
* Two empty cartridges (5mm diameter)
* Two cigarette butts from the crime scene
* Blood-stained clothes and one pellet recovered from hospital
Investigation Findings
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motive behind the crime was retaliation. The victim, an active Gow Rakshak Dal activist, had allegedly intercepted the accused’s cattle-transport vehicles, causing a financial loss of around ₹1 crore to the accused. Additionally, a personal dispute reportedly arose when the victim allegedly demanded ₹5 lakh to refrain from his activities.
The investigation team also discovered that Ibrahim Qureshi has a prior criminal record, and is linked to multiple cases under the Telangana State Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act across various police stations including Mulugu, Gajwel, Shamshabad, and Ghatkesar.
