Hyderabad, Telangana: Demonstrating outstanding investigative efficiency, the Osmania University Police, with the support of the Task Force East Zone, successfully detected and solved a pre-planned murder case registered relating to the killing of Magu Singh (58) of Dhoolpet on 01.12.2025 at Yerrakunta Katta, Tarnaka.
During the investigation, police uncovered that accused Shaik Ghouse (43) suspected the victim of indulging in black magic and spreading rumours about his family. Driven by this belief, he conspired with Syed Shoaib (32) and Md. Ilyas (20) to eliminate the victim.
As per the conspiracy, Syed Shoaib (32) lured the victim to Boost Hotel Lane, where Shaik Ghouse (43) attacked him with an iron rod. The trio then transported the victim in Shoaib’s Xylo car to Tarnaka, where Shaik Ghouse (43) allegedly slit his throat. After dumping the body, they fled and concealed the weapons near their residence.
Acting swiftly on credible information, coordinated police teams from OU Sity Police Station, Nallakunta Police Station, and Task Force East Zone apprehended the accused on 03.12.2025. The teams recovered the Xylo car, two bikes, iron rod, knife, mobile phones, and the clothes worn during the offence. Police also discovered that Shaik Ghouse (43) had a prior criminal history related to theft and assault cases.
The case was detected under the supervision of senior officers of the East Zone and OU Sity Division, reflecting the effective teamwork, professionalism and commitment of the Hyderabad City Police in maintaining law and order.
Along with the detection, the police issued public advisory, urging citizens not to fall prey to superstitions or black-magic-based practices for resolving personal or financial issues. The public has been requested to report such activities to the police immediately, enabling strict legal action against offenders and preventing exploitation.
