Chikkamagaluru City, Karnataka: As part of the people-friendly ‘Arakash Gelathi’* programme, the MPSI of Chikkamagaluru City Police Station visited D. Devaraj Urs Post-Matric Girls’ Hostel and D. Devaraj Urs Post-Matric Girls’ Hostel (General Division–2) in Chikkamagaluru city today and held an interactive session with the students.
During the visit, the police officer interacted with the students, patiently listened to their grievances, and assured them of necessary support and protection. The hostels were inspected in the presence of the hostel wardens and staff to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the students.
The MPSI also conducted an awareness session, educating the students on important issues such as cybercrime prevention, traffic rules, the ill effects of drug abuse, provisions of the POCSO Act, and the Child Marriage Prohibition Act. The session aimed at empowering students with legal awareness and encouraging them to stay vigilant and informed.
The initiative was well received by the students and hostel authorities and reflects the Chikkamagaluru City Police’s continued commitment to community policing, student safety, and women’s empowerment through proactive engagement and awareness.
