Surat City, Gujarat: In a decisive move to curb drug-related activities, the Surat Police carried out a special drive against the illegal sale of Gogo paper, commonly misused for substance abuse. As part of the operation, strict action was taken against 18 pan galla owners found selling the prohibited material.
The enforcement drive was conducted across multiple police station limits under Zone–4, including Umra, Vesu, Athwa, Althan, Khatodara, and Pandesara. Police teams conducted thorough inspections of pan shops and commercial establishments to prevent the circulation of materials linked to drug addiction.
Senior police officials stated that the action reflects the Surat Police’s zero-tolerance approach towards activities that promote drug abuse, particularly among youth. The department also warned traders and shop owners to strictly adhere to the law, failing which stringent legal action will be initiated.
The Surat Police reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding public health and maintaining a drug-free environment through continuous monitoring and enforcement.
