Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand: As part of its proactive efforts to strengthen crime prevention and legal awareness, the District Police today organized a comprehensive public awareness programme at the SSB 55th Battalion, Aicholi. The programme was jointly conducted by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Cyber/Surveillance Cell, and the Special Operations Group (SOG).
During the session, officers and personnel were provided with detailed information on the NDPS Act, cybercrime, crimes against women, child-related offences, and newly introduced criminal laws. Special emphasis was laid on the legal provisions of the NDPS Act, particularly procedures to be followed during the seizure of narcotic substances while checking and surveillance at the international border, with the objective of ensuring strong, accurate, and effective prosecution of drug traffickers in courts.
The interactive programme enhanced awareness among personnel and reinforced coordinated action against narcotics, cyber offences, and crimes affecting vulnerable sections of society.
