Haryana, Hisar: Acting on the directives of Superintendent of Police Mr. Shashank Kumar Sawan, the Hisar Cyber Police Station has arrested Vinod, a resident of Dhani Lakhpur, in connection with a case registered on 27.08.2023. The case pertains to the fraudulent issuance of SIM cards by altering photocopies of Aadhaar cards.
Sub-Inspector Saurabh stated that the investigation revealed Vinod worked as a SIM distribution agent for Vodafone. To meet company targets, he retained Aadhaar card photocopies of customers seeking Vodafone SIMs and manipulated them to issue additional SIM cards. Vodafone later detected and blocked the fraudulently issued SIMs.
The case was registered at Hisar Cyber Police Station based on a complaint by Vodafone Idea representative Satish regarding the issuance of SIM cards using fake documents. After interrogation, Vinod was presented in court and remanded to judicial custody.
