Gutti: Gutti police have arrested two inter-district robbers for cheating innocent people and stealing cash from their bank accounts through ATMs. The details of the accused were revealed by CI Mr. Shyamarao at a press conference held at the local Gutti police station on Sunday. Vijayakumar Nayak of Sreesatyasai District Mudigubba and Srikanth Nayak of Tanakallu Mandal Aenugundutanda village are addicted to jalsas and committing scams at ATMs to make easy money.
After staying at the ATMs and pretending to be helping innocent people who do not know how to draw cash, the accused give them a duplicate ATM card and hide the original card. The accused would then draw the cash on the card. The suspects were arrested by the police on Sunday morning at the SBI ATM in Gutti while they were drawing money with the ATM card of an innocent man. The probe revealed that similar scams had taken place in Kurnool, Anantapur and Vyssar districts. Police seized Rs.75,000 cash, 14 ATM cards, three cellphones and a two-wheeler from the accused and registered a case.
