Kerala, Kasaragod: In a commendable display of vigilance and swift action, the Bedakam Police intercepted an illegal transportation of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and arrested two individuals, seizing 65 litres of liquor being smuggled in an auto-rickshaw.
Acting on timely intelligence during night patrols near Ebenezer IPC Church on the Bandadka-Kolichal Hill Highway, the police noticed suspicious activity involving three individuals and an auto-rickshaw. Upon intervention, one suspect fled the scene, while the officers detained the other two and conducted a thorough vehicle inspection. The search revealed 130 bottles of IMFL, each containing 500 ml, concealed in sacks.
The arrested individuals were identified as Jobins M.V. (38) of Thirumeni, Kakkatav, and Shibu K.A. (48) of East Eleri, Katamkaval. Both were taken into custody along with the vehicle and later remanded after being produced in court.
This operation was carried out under the efficient supervision of District Police Chief Shri B.V. Vijay Bharat Reddy IPS, and on the directive of Bekal DySP Shri Manoj V.V. The successful raid was executed by a team led by Bedakam Sub-Inspector Aravindan M, along with SCPO Narayanan E, Ratheesh, and CPO Rakesh Kumar.
