Bengaluru, Karnataka: In a significant step toward enhancing internal communication, the Bengaluru City Police (BCP) has launched BCPChat, a secure mobile application designed exclusively for official use within the department. The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Police during a recent press briefing.
The app is tailored to support the seamless exchange of vital updates including VIP movements, media reports, Daily Crime Reviews (DCRs), and Daily Situation Reports (DSRs). Its intuitive interface ensures that officers can stay updated in real time across departments and zones.
Security remains a top priority with BCPChat. All data transmitted and stored through the app is housed in the Karnataka State Data Centre, and access is strictly restricted to authorised personnel, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information.
In addition to communication, BCPChat features intelligent search capabilities, allowing users to retrieve past records swiftly. It also serves as a platform for disseminating official orders, circulars, and instructions from senior officers, eliminating the delay and clutter often associated with traditional methods.
The Bengaluru police leadership emphasized that this digital initiative aligns with the department’s commitment to leveraging technology for more efficient and responsive policing.
