Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, May 13, 2025: To strengthen the core of grassroots policing and ensure effective enforcement of government priorities, Inspector General (IG) of Bilaspur Range, Dr. Sanjeev Shukla, IPS, convened a high-level review meeting with all gazetted officers and Station in-charges of Bilaspur district.
Held at the District Police Headquarters, the meeting was aimed at reinforcing discipline, accelerating crime resolution, and boosting performance accountability across the force. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajneesh Singh, IPS, along with key district police officials, participated in the session.
Key Directives and Highlights:
Firm Stand on Discipline and Corruption:
IG Dr. Shukla issued a clear warning against indiscipline and corruption, stating that strict action will be taken against any misconduct. All personnel must display exemplary integrity and dedication.
Strengthening Basic Policing:
Special focus on beat policing, ensuring regular presence and interaction within communities.
Implementation of weekly diary reviews for all personnel to track performance and accountability.
Increased visibility through routine parades, orderly room reporting, and destruction of outdated records.
Crime Control Measures:
Swift identification and monitoring of inactive and active habitual offenders.
Preparation of fresh watch lists and continuous surveillance of anti-social elements.
Commitment to resolving serious crimes within 90 days and other cases within 60 days, emphasizing prompt charge-sheet filing.
Technology Integration:
Officers were directed to utilize platforms like E-Evidence, E-Samanvay, NIDAAN Portal, NATGRID, and Cri-MAC to enhance investigations and inter-agency coordination.
Provision of training and orientation for effective use of these digital tools was also highlighted.
Vehicle Seizure Success:
The IG appreciated the effective vehicle seizure and forfeiture efforts undertaken in the district, encouraging continued vigilance in curbing illegal activities.
Pending Complaints:
Emphasis was placed on the swift and sensitive handling of public complaints, ensuring that no grievance remains unresolved due to administrative delay.
Recognition for ‘Chetna Abhiyan’:
The IG lauded the success of ‘Chetna Abhiyan’, a community policing and public awareness initiative led by SSP Rajneesh Singh, calling it a model campaign for other districts.
