Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, July 19, 2025: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, Bilaspur Police, under the dynamic leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (IPS) Shri Rajnesh Singh, executed a successful operation named “Operation Prahar”, arresting two interstate ganja smugglers and seizing 284 kg of contraband along with assets worth approximately ₹35 lakh.
This decisive action was carried out by the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU) and Torwa Police, demonstrating the district police’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy against drug smuggling.

Seized Contraband:
284 packets of ganja (total 284 kg)
One Maruti Ertiga vehicle (CG 04 OC 4577)
Two Android mobile phones and one iPhone
Estimated total value: ₹35 lakh
Arrested Accused:
Gajendra Goswami alias Bittu (26), resident of Mandla, MP
Nayan Kumar (25), resident of Seoni, MP
Action Details:
Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team intercepted the suspects’ vehicle at Jagmal Chowk. As the accused attempted to flee, police swiftly apprehended them and recovered the massive consignment of ganja. Preliminary interrogation revealed the contraband originated from Odisha.
Legal Proceedings:
A case has been registered under Section 20(B)(2)(C) of the NDPS Act at Torwa Police Station. The accused were produced before the Hon’ble Court. End-to-end and financial investigations are underway to identify and arrest the main kingpins behind the operation.
