Indore: New dimensions are being established day by day in information technology. While using information technology, work is being done to make the life of the common man easier, while people with criminal tendencies are playing with the lives of people by using these techniques. Incidents like financial fraud, bullying, motivating children to do wrong things, blackmailing, sexual abuse of children are happening every day. The main reason for this is the unsafe use of cyberspace. Under the “Cyber Awareness and Cyber Security” campaign being run by Additional Director General of Police Dr. Varun Kapoor IPS under the Black Ribbon Initiative to make people aware of cybercrime and to make them aware of the importance of cyber security. In the 558th workshop on 29th August at Arnold Higher Secondary School, Scheme No. 74C, Vijay Nagar, Indore, 295 students and 15 teachers were trained. In this workshop, the manager of the school, Father John Vakhla, Head Mistress Sister Sarita, Father Robert, program coordinator Dharmendra Verma and Arvind Panwar of Indore Post and Manoj Jadhav of the social organization “Mera Ward Mera Parivar” participated.

Addressing the children in the workshop, Dr. Kapoor said that every person is using internet but lack of knowledge and awareness of safety standards is seen. The dependence of children on the Internet is also increasing and they are spending a lot of their time every day on social sites Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp. Children are the easiest victims of cybercriminals as they are unaware of the cybercrimes that take place through these sites. The increasing incidence of cybercrime shows the lack of awareness among the people. Dr. Kapoor informed the children about cyber bullying, cyber stalking, phishing, cyber grooming and gaming etc.

Dr. Kapoor resolved all the queries of the children during the workshop. The stage in the workshop was conducted by Father Robert.
