Chamoli, Uttarakhand: In a proactive effort to ensure a peaceful and disciplined Sawan Kanwar Yatra, the Chamoli Police took firm action against noise pollution, particularly from modified bike silencers.
Following public complaints, the Badrinath Police launched a dedicated campaign and removed retro-fitted silencers from several motorcycles that were causing disturbances. In a commendable move, Kanwariyas themselves were encouraged to appeal to fellow devotees to maintain peace and strictly follow the rules during the pilgrimage.
This initiative not only helped reduce noise pollution but also reflected a spirit of cooperation between the police and pilgrims, promoting a peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere during the yatra.
