Two brokers were arrested by the police for sending objectionable messages by Whats App to an actor offering her money. Ms.Jayalakshmi, an actress who acted in Tamil films including Nepali, Pirivom Sandippom and a few television serials, received Whats App messages from an unknown number. On receiving the messages the actress,Ms.Jayalakshmi met City Police Commissioner Mr.A.K. Viswanathan and lodged a complaint. Following the Commissioner’s instructions, the Anti-Vice Squad conducted an investigation. Disguising as prospective customers, a police team arrested Murugaperuman and Kaviarasan of Virugambakkam. The investigation revealed that the two sent similar messages to several women. Besides, they elicited prospective customers through Whats App, calling it “relationship dating.” Both the accused were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
