Chennai, Tamil Nadu: The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, personally congratulated and awarded certificates of appreciation to police officers who swiftly identified and arrested the culprits involved in the recent murder and robbery cases in Erode and Tiruppur districts.
On May 20, 2025, at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister met with the police officials—including Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents—who cracked the cases and honored them for their quick action.
In Erode district, on April 28, 2025, at Uchimedu Melayan Farm in Chithapuram, an elderly couple, Ramasamy (72) and Bakkiyam (63), were murdered in their farmhouse and about 10¾ sovereigns of gold and cash were stolen.
In Tiruppur district, at Aniyapuranaayam, Selaisivandan Palanayudu, on the night of November 28, 2024, Deivasigamani (78), his wife Alamathal (74), and their son Senthil Kumar (44) were killed and about 5½ sovereigns of gold, cash, and a mobile phone were stolen.
The arrested culprits confessed to these crimes, and investigations are ongoing to see if they are linked to other similar murder and robbery cases.
