Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a man accused of two counts of robbery in the national capital. Police also seized weapons; a semi-automatic pistol, two domestic guns, 34 cartridges, two mobile phones, and a stolen motorcycle that were used in the crime from the accused. Police have been informed about the whereabouts of the accused in Uttar Pradesh.
According to accurate information, the police scanned and analyzed 648 CCTV camera footage and caught the thief from his hideout in UP. On his confession, police also seized a stolen property receiver and seized 86 grams of gold from him.
On February 28, a 38-year-old man identified as Manish Goyal, a resident of New Anaj Mandi, informed the Mangolpuri police station that he had been robbed with a gun. According to the complaint, he went to the Vardan Skin Clinic near Pushpanjali at 4:30 pm to consult a doctor.
However, when he got back to his car, two strong men on a Splendor motorcycle came and threatened him and his friend Sumit with a gun and a knife, demanding that they hand over all their valuables. The suspects, who looted gold and valuables, fled the scene in an instant.
Similarly, along with another complainant, lakhs of rupees in cash, ring, and valuable gold were stolen from his brother.600 CCTV cameras were scanned and the accused has been arrested.
After a detailed investigation, the police were able to nab the accused from his hideout in Shyam Enclave in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The accused was identified as Mohammad Azad (40). Meanwhile, another accomplice, Zakir, a resident of Subhash Vihar, is absconding in the crime. Azad, who was involved in several robberies and snatching cases, started robbing people with his cousin Zakir.
During further investigation, it was revealed that he was wearing gold jewelry and circling the Outer Ring Road on a stolen motorcycle to identify his targets, after which he tracked down his targets, followed, and then robbed with a gun. Sanjay Verma, who owns a jewelry shop in New Seelampur, sells the stolen gold jewelry to Farhan Akhtar.
