Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: In a display of courage and swift action, a police officer in the Balasamudram area near Palani apprehended a drunken man who was creating panic and attacking a disabled person with a stick.
Responding immediately to complaints from local residents, the officer rushed to the spot and attempted to stop the assailant. The drunken man, identified as Anand, turned violent, attacked the officer, tried to tear his uniform, and pushed him away.
Undeterred, the officer quickly overpowered the man and secured him, preventing further harm to the disabled victim and bystanders. He was then handed over to the Palani Taluk Police Station for legal action.
Investigations revealed that several cases were already pending against Anand. Thanks to the alertness and bravery of the police officer, a dangerous situation was brought under control and public safety was ensured.
