Hyderabad, Telangana: In view of the prestigious “MESSI GOAT TOUR – LIVE EVENT 2025” football match scheduled to be held on 13-12-2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, the Hyderabad Police have put in place unprecedented and comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the smooth, safe, and incident-free conduct of the event.
The stadium, which has a seating capacity of approximately 39,000 spectators, will host football fans from across the country. Keeping public safety, VIP security, and crowd management as top priorities, elaborate bandobust arrangements involving nearly 2,500 police personnel have been made in close coordination with various wings of the police and allied departments.
Multi-Layered Security Deployment
The security setup includes personnel from the Security Wing, Traffic Police (300 personnel), Law & Order (1,492 personnel), 18 platoons of TSSP/AR forces, 2 OCTOPUS teams, 10 Mounted Police units, 2 Vajra vehicles, and personnel from SB, CCS, SOT, and other specialized units. Additionally, four fire tenders with firefighting squads have been deployed for emergency preparedness.
Gate No. 1 has been exclusively designated for players and VVIPs, and strict access control measures are in place. Spectator entry will be regulated strictly as per ticketing details, and a comprehensive evacuation plan has been prepared to handle any emergency situation.
Advanced Surveillance and Monitoring
To maintain continuous surveillance, a total of 450 CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the stadium, covering entry and exit points, vehicle check posts, parking areas, and approach routes. A Joint Command and Control Room, manned by ACP IT Cell and trained personnel, has been established to monitor live CCTV feeds and ensure immediate response to any developing situation.
Anti-sabotage checks are being conducted round the clock with the assistance of Bomb Disposal (BD) squads. Explosive detection scanners, sniffer dogs, and bomb disposal teams have been deployed at the stadium premises and parking areas to ensure maximum safety.
Crowd Control and Anti-Social Element Monitoring
Separate teams have been deployed to monitor and restrict the movement of anti-social elements. Additionally, mobile technical teams (5–8 members per gate) have been positioned at all entry gates for mobile phone checks and technical verification.
Mounted Police units are stationed at Gate Nos. 1, 3, 4, 7, and 8 to enhance crowd control and visibility. Five dedicated patrolling teams will be actively managing crowd movement across the 13 outer gates of the stadium.
Strict Ticketing and Entry Regulations
Entry into the stadium is permitted only with valid tickets or passes. Tickets are issued exclusively in digital format, and entry will be granted only after scanning the QR Code generated through the official “District App”. Each QR Code is valid for one-time entry only; scanned images, screenshots, or photocopies will not be accepted.
Pass holders will be issued physical passes with barcodes, and duplication or unauthorized entry attempts will attract criminal action.
Prohibited Items and Safety Measures
For the safety of all spectators, the following items are strictly prohibited inside the stadium:
* Laptops, cameras, banners, water bottles
* Cigarettes, matchboxes, lighters
* Umbrellas, electronic items, batteries
* Sharp metal or plastic objects
* Binoculars, writing pens, helmets
* Perfumes, bags, and outside food items
Security personnel will conduct thorough checks to enforce these restrictions.
Public Welfare and Support Services
Dedicated SHE Teams and Anti-Eve-Teasing squads have been deployed to ensure the safety of women spectators. Special teams have also been formed to supervise vendors and regulate pricing as per approved norms.
The antecedents of all personnel engaged by sponsors and vendors have been thoroughly verified, and photo identity passes have been issued. Exchange of accreditation cards or unauthorized replacement of personnel is strictly prohibited and will result in legal action.
To facilitate easy access, adequate signage boards have been installed along major routes including Habsiguda–Uppal, LB Nagar–Uppal, Medipally–Uppal, and Ramanthapur–Stadium. Spectators are advised to park vehicles only at designated parking areas, primarily IILA Parking.
Medical and Emergency Preparedness
In view of the large turnout, the number of ambulances has been increased from three to five, ensuring immediate medical assistance when required. Gates will be opened three hours prior to the match, i.e., from 4:00 PM, to allow smooth and staggered entry of spectators.
Special teams will also be deployed outside the stadium to prevent illegal vending and black-ticket sales.
Conclusion
The Hyderabad Police, in coordination with the event organizers, HCA, and civic departments, are committed to ensuring a safe, secure, and memorable experience for football fans attending this prestigious international event. All arrangements have been meticulously planned to uphold public safety and maintain Hyderabad’s reputation as a world-class host city.
