Hyderabad, Telangana, October 09, 2025: In a decisive action to safeguard national security, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) apprehended and deported a Nigerian national, Onuorah Solomon Chibueze (46 years), for his involvement in undesirable and narcotic-related activities in the city.
The accused, who entered India in 2014 on a medical visa, had been illegally overstaying after the expiry of both his visa and passport, while associating with drug peddlers and engaging in the procurement and sale of ganja in Hyderabad. Acting on credible information, H-NEW personnel intercepted the foreign national moving suspiciously within Tolichowki Police Station limits.
Upon interrogation, the accused failed to produce valid documents for his stay and admitted to overstaying in the country. In coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Hyderabad, and the Nigerian High Commission, New Delhi, an Emergency Travel Document was secured, and the individual was deported to Nigeria through Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, on 09-10-2025.
The Hyderabad City Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law, order, and national security, emphasizing zero tolerance toward drug-related and illegal foreign activities. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report narcotic offences to the H-NEW Helpline: 8712661601.
Citizens, especially parents, are advised to counsel youth to stay away from drugs and cooperate with police efforts in making Hyderabad a drug-free city.
