Hyderabad City, Telangana, May 2025: A high-level Monsoon Preparedness Meeting was convened on Monday at the War Room of the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC), Banjara Hills. The session was led by Shri C.V. Anand, IPS, Director General & Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, and brought together senior officials from multiple civic, emergency, and infrastructure departments to assess and coordinate strategies for the upcoming monsoon.

Participating agencies included the Hyderabad Collectorate, GHMC, Fire Services, HYDRAA, Electricity Department, Medical & Health Department, IMD, SDRF, Hyderabad Water Board, and the Cyberabad & Rachakonda Police Commissionerates.

Monitoring and managing 141 flood-prone water logging points identified by GHMC.

Traffic diversion and regulation at vulnerable stretches.

Ensuring rapid power restoration during heavy rainfall.

Prevention of seasonal diseases and medical contingencies.

Structural safety inspections and action on dilapidated buildings.

Deployment of Apad Mitra volunteers and NGOs for emergency relief.

Promotion of digital public safety tools like the SACHET Mobile App.

Leadership Guidance and Strategic Directives

The meeting was formally inaugurated by Shri V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, IPS (Retd.), Director, TGiCCC, who emphasized the importance of nominating competent liaison officers from all departments to the Joint Action Team (JAT). He urged effective utilization of the TGiCCC’s advanced facilities and real-time coordination tools during crises.

Commissioner C.V. Anand, IPS, highlighted the need for pre-emptive deployment of GHMC teams, traffic police, water board officials, electricity and health departments, and HYDRAA personnel at critical locations. He urged all agencies to anticipate flood situations and leverage the TGiCCC’s integrated command capabilities to streamline field response.

“Disaster anticipation is key. The strength of our response will depend on how well we plan and how early we act,” said Shri C.V. Anand, IPS.

Fire Department and SOP Emphasis

Shri Y. Nagi Reddy, IPS, from the Fire Services Department, recommended the development of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to clearly define inter-departmental responsibilities, especially for fire and medical emergencies arising during the monsoon.

Multi-Departmental Participation

Key attendees included Shri A.V. Ranganath, IPS – HYDRAA; Shri Mukunda Rao – Hyderabad Collectorate; Shri N. Narsimlu – Director (Operations), Electricity Department; Shri Sahadev Ratnakar, C.E. (M) – GHMC; Dr. Gaja Rao Bhupal, IPS – Joint CP, Cyberabad; and Senior representatives from Rachakonda Police, SDRF, and IMD.

Collective Commitment

The meeting concluded with a unified resolve from all departments to maintain seamless coordination, proactive deployment, and public-centric service delivery throughout the monsoon season.
