Kottayam: The Jwala 2.0 project, aimed at enhancing women’s safety, was inaugurated by Mr. K. Karthik IPS, the Police Chief of Kottayam District, at Kottayam Darshana Academy. In celebration of International Women’s Day, a two-day self-defense training program was organized for women and children in the district on March 2nd and 3rd, as part of the District Janmaitri Safety Project. Joining the event were notable figures such as Mrs. Shailaja Philip (Municipal Councilor Kottayam), Father Jinu Machukuzhi (Director Darshana Academy), Father Jobi Manjakalail, Mr. V. Sugathan (Additional SP Kottayam), Mr. C. John (DYSP Narcotics Cell), Mr. Mathyupaul (ADNO Janamaithri Project Kottayam), and others. The training sessions are led by specially trained women police officers from the district police force.
