Karur, Tamil Nadu: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at the Karur District Sports Hall. The grand function was graced by District Collector Mr. M. Thangavel, IAS, and Superintendent of Police Mr. K. Josh Thangaiah, who together saluted the spirit of freedom and service.
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the District Collector, followed by an impressive parade led by Armed Police Inspector Mrs. K. Kokila and her team, showcasing the discipline, strength, and dedication of the Karur Police.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to public service, the District Collector honored 71 individuals, including police personnel and ministry staff, with medals and certificates. The awards highlighted the tireless commitment of the police in safeguarding society and upholding law and order with devotion.
The event stood as a proud reminder of the police force’s crucial role as guardians of peace and protectors of the nation’s democratic values.
