Kasaragod, Kerala, Sept 20, 2025: Hosdurg Police arrested Arshad K (33), a native of Njanikadavu Mayyat Road, Kanhangad, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
Arshad, accused in nearly 10 criminal cases including six drug-related offences registered across Hosdurg, Bekal, Chanthera and Payyannur police stations, was taken into preventive detention following a State Government order.
This marks the second arrest under the PIT NDPS Act in Hosdurg Police Station limits and the seventh in Kasaragod district, underscoring the firm stance of police against habitual drug offenders.
The arrest was executed under the guidance of District Police Chief Shri B.V. Vijaya Bharat Reddy, IPS, by Inspector Ajith Kumar P, SI Vishnu Prasad, ASI Prakashan M, SCPOs A. Saneesh Kumar and Sreejesh V, CPOs Ramith and Rajesh P, with supervision from Kanhangad DySP C.K. Sunil Kumar.
Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace through strict enforcement and preventive measures.
