Rachakonda, Telangana, October 24, 2025: The Rachakonda SHE Team have intensified their vigilance across the Commissionerate limits, successfully apprehending 171 individuals involved in the harassment of women and girls within a span of fifteen days.
Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sri G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, stated that SHE Teams are committed to ensuring the safety and dignity of women, leaving no room for offenders who indulge in harassment or indecent behavior. Teams have been conducting decoy operations across bus stands, metro stations, railway stations, markets, educational institutions, and public places using multiple patrol vehicles to identify and apprehend eve-teasers and stalkers.
Those caught have been presented before the court and later subjected to counseling sessions in the presence of their family members at the Rachakonda Women Safety Wing Office, LB Nagar.
Between October 1 and 15, the SHE Teams registered 194 complaints, leading to the identification of 171 offenders — 106 adults and 65 minors.
According to DCP (Women Safety Wing) Smt. T. Uparani, the complaints included:
* 40 cases of harassment over phone calls,
* 74 cases through social media platforms, and
* 80 cases of direct physical or verbal harassment.
Out of these, 8 cases were booked under criminal sections, 81 were treated as harassment cases, and 88 individuals were counseled along with their guardians.
Key Cases:
* Cyber Harassment: A woman and her daughter were harassed through false messages on WhatsApp, leading to a case and arrest after SHE Team intervention.
* Cheating in the Name of Love: A man who deceived and physically exploited a woman under the pretext of marriage was arrested following the victim’s complaint to the SHE Team.
* Public Nuisance: A youth creating nuisance at Thukkuguda Bus Stand was promptly detained and a case registered at Maheshwaram Police Station.
Awareness & Preventive Efforts:
In addition to enforcement, the SHE Teams conducted 79 awareness programs during the first half of October, reaching over 13,500 individuals. These sessions educated the public on women’s safety laws, cyber awareness, and preventive measures against harassment.
The teams also carried out decoy operations in metro trains, catching seven men travelling in women’s compartments, ensuring strict enforcement of safety norms in public transport.
