Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, October 21: Guards’ Valor Day was solemnly observed at the Ramanathapuram District Armed Forces Complex on Tuesday (21.10.2025), paying tribute to the brave Central Security Force personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The observance marks the valour of ten Central Security Force guards who laid down their lives in a surprise attack by Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, on October 21, 1959. Since then, the day has been commemorated nationwide to honour the courage and sacrifice of guards who have fallen while serving the nation.
During the ceremony Ramanathapuram Saraka Vice President Mr. P.A. Moorthy, District Collector Mr. Simranjit Singh Kalon, and District Superintendent of Police Mr. G. Sandesh, IPS, laid wreaths at the memorial in homage to the martyrs. Police officers and personnel of the armed reserve fired 66 ceremonial rounds as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes.
The solemn event reflected the deep gratitude and reverence of the police fraternity towards those who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
