Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh: In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Ratlam Police have successfully blocked more than 3,400 mobile numbers linked to fraudulent cyber activities. The operation was carried out under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Shri Amit Kumar and the guidance of Additional SP Shri Rakesh Khakha, as part of an ongoing effort to combat rising cyber fraud cases.
Cybercriminals often exploit fake SIM cards and bank accounts, obtained using forged documents or by deceiving individuals across various states. These are then used from cybercrime hotspots to defraud unsuspecting victims. Recognizing the threat, Ratlam Police’s Cyber Cell has been actively identifying and disabling such fraudulent numbers to disrupt the networks used by cyber fraudsters.
To assist the public, SP Shri Amit Kumar has also issued a dedicated Cyber Helpline Number: 7049127420 for prompt support. Complaints received through this helpline or at the cyber cell are registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), and immediate steps are taken to freeze fraudulent transactions.
As part of its broader anti-cybercrime initiative, the Ratlam Police have blocked a total of 7,900 fraudulent mobile numbers so far—striking a major blow to criminal networks misusing telecom infrastructure.
This decisive action underlines Ratlam Police’s proactive and tech-driven approach to ensuring public safety in the digital age.
