Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu, October 21: In a gesture of compassion and support, Tenkasi District Superintendent of Police Mr. S. Aravind, IPS, personally handed over mercy appointment orders to the family members of two police personnel who had tragically taken their own lives while serving in the Tamil Nadu Police Department.
The event took place on October 21, 2025, at the District Police Office, Tenkasi, where the SP presented the official appointment orders and extended his heartfelt wishes to the beneficiaries for a secure and dignified future.
Under the Mercy Appointment Scheme of the Government of Tamil Nadu, employment opportunities are provided to the legal heirs of police personnel who lose their lives—including by suicide—while in service. The initiative aims to offer financial stability and social security to the bereaved families.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Aravind, IPS, said that the department remains committed to supporting the families of its personnel during difficult times and ensuring that their welfare is given due priority. He encouraged the newly appointed family members to serve the government sincerely and uphold the values of dedication and integrity.
The compassionate appointments reflect the department’s enduring commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of police families affected by tragic circumstances.
