Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Aug.2: District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, held a virtual review meeting with DSPs, Circle Inspectors, and Sub-Inspectors across the district, emphasizing the urgent need for respectful, prompt, and technology-driven policing, especially in cases involving women.
Addressing the officers via Zoom from the District Police Office, SP Reddy directed all police personnel to treat women victims with dignity, ensure swift redressal of their grievances, and take strict legal action against perpetrators. He also ordered the expedited enforcement of pending non-bailable warrants, particularly in serious and sensitive cases.
The SP stressed the importance of daily village visits by Station House Officers and women police personnel to interact with the public, gather intelligence on crimes like domestic violence and assaults, and educate communities about women’s rights, safety measures, and available legal protections.
SP Reddy further urged the officers to promote the use of the Shakti App, SOS services, and Dial 112 among the public to ensure better safety and quicker police response. He instructed the formation of special enforcement teams at police stations to execute court-issued warrants and utilize the latest investigative technologies and software tools to accelerate the resolution of pending cases.
Also participating in the review were KV Ramana (SP Office), Cyber Cell CI Srinivas, DSRB SI Govinda Rao, and all DSPs, CIs, and SSIs across the district, who joined virtually.
The meeting reaffirmed the district police’s commitment to women’s safety, legal accountability, and efficient law enforcement through proactive policing and community outreach.
