Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, has directed police officers across the district to expedite the investigation of pending marijuana cases, ensure strict action against offenders, and enforce non-bailable warrants (NBWs) without delay.
On Tuesday evening, the SP conducted a review meeting through Zoom conference with DSPs, Circle Inspectors, and Station House Officers. The meeting focused on the status of marijuana case investigations, execution of NBWs, and reasons for delays.
The SP instructed officers to maintain special surveillance on repeat offenders and known criminals involved in drug-related cases. He emphasized that all NBWs issued by the courts must be implemented promptly and the accused should be produced before the courts at the earliest.
He further urged the formation of special police teams to trace and apprehend absconding accused within and outside the district, using personal details, technical evidence, and modern tracking methods.
The review was attended virtually by DCRB CI Srinivas Rao, Cyber Cell CI Srinivaas, SI Govinda Rao, along with DSPs, CIs, and SIs from their respective stations.
SP Maheshwara Reddy reiterated the police department’s commitment to curbing drug-related crimes and ensuring that all pending cases are brought to a logical conclusion swiftly.
