Gujarat, Surat City, April 28, 2025: In a major crackdown on smuggling, Surat City Police seized 1,512 foreign-made liquor bottles and beer tins, valued at ₹1,55,000, from the Ichhapor area. The authorities also confiscated an Aiser Tempo, worth ₹16,60,232, used in transporting the illegal goods.
The accused, Dinesh Madhukar Patil, was arrested, and a PESA (Prevention of Smuggling Act) application was filed against him. Following his detention, Patil was sent to the Central Jail in Ahmedabad.
The operation, carried out by the Surat City Ichhapor Police team, underscores the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to curb smuggling and illegal activities in the region. The police have pledged to continue their vigilance in ensuring such activities are swiftly dealt with in accordance with the law.
