Hyderabad, Telangana: In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Afzalgunj Police, raided an illegal firecracker godown at Siddamber Bazar, Osman Gunj Road, and apprehended one person, Shyam Kumar Sugandhi (55 years), for storing explosive firecrackers without a valid licence.
During the raid, the police seized 100 cartons of assorted branded firecrackers valued at approximately ₹18,00,000, which were being stored in a residential locality, posing a serious risk to public safety and property.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Sri U. Chandra Shekhar, Inspector of Police, East Zone Task Force, by SI M. Anantha Chary, S. Karunakar Reddy, P. Nagaraju, and team, with the support of Afzalgunj Police.
The Hyderabad City Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety during the festive season, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the Explosives Act, 1884, and Explosives Rules, 2008.
