Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, October 31, 2025: In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Thoothukudi District Police organized a series of awareness and cultural competitions for school students across various police station limits in the district.
The initiative aimed to strengthen police–public relations and promote civic awareness among the younger generation. Students enthusiastically participated in events such as running, essay writing, painting, mini marathon, sapling plantation, and speech competitions.
The competitions were conducted in schools under the jurisdiction of Ottapidaram, Sankaralingapuram, Kulasekaranpattinam, Kadambur, Puthur, Thalamuthunagar, and Kovilpatti East police stations.
In addition, police personnel planted saplings at Kadalgudi Police Station and in various school premises, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners, encouraging them to contribute actively towards nation-building and community development.
This event reflects the Thoothukudi District Police’s continued commitment to youth engagement, environmental responsibility, and public awareness.
