Siliguri: Today afternoon, acting on credible intelligence officers and men of NJP Police Station intercepted one vehicle having Registration number WB73E/0577 with three occupants inside the vehicle including the driver.
The three persons have been identified as Majibul Haque of Sutkabari, Police Station Kotwali Coochbehar; Ashok Barman of Banchukamari, Police Station Pundibari, Coochbehar, and Saidul Mia of Sonari Kakribati, Police Station. Pundibari, Coochbehar.
On search after observing proper formalities 5 nylon bags containing 150 kilograms of Ganja were found loaded in the said vehicle.
Accordingly, the contraband ganja and the vehicle have been seized and the three persons who were clandestinely transporting the contraband narcotics have been arrested and taken into custody.
A case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been started at NJP P.S. and is being investigated.
