Thrissur Rural, Kerala | May 2025: Amid the ongoing heavy monsoon across Kerala, the Thrissur Rural Police, under the leadership of District Police Chief B. Krishnakumar IPS, have launched four round-the-clock emergency control rooms to ensure swift response and public safety during rain-related emergencies.
These control rooms—operational at DySP offices in Chalakudy, Kodungallur, Irinjalakuda, and at the Thrissur Rural Police Headquarters—are equipped to provide real-time assistance to affected residents.

Swift Police Action during Monsoon Emergencies
- Kottappuram, Kodungallur: A teak tree fell on a residence. SI Cletus C.M. and CPO Pramod safely relocated the family and supervised the tree’s removal.
- Kakathuruthy, Irinjalakuda Road: A fallen tree blocked traffic. SI Babu George and CPO Kiran, with help from locals, cleared the obstruction.
- Irinjalakuda JFCM Court Vicinity: A dangerously leaning tree was removed by SI Nassar K.M. and CPO Shabu, averting potential danger.
- Kaipamangalam (NH 66): A tree collapsed near HDFC Bank. Local police and residents, using a JCB, cleared the area and restored traffic flow.
- Nellayi, Kodakara: A tree fell onto an electric pole, blocking Anandapuram Road. ASIs Baiju, Gokulan, Ashiq, and Aneesh, with community support, ensured safe clearance.
- Thazhekkad Aalthara, Alur: A large banyan tree fell on electric poles, injuring a motorcyclist. SI Afsal M., CPO Sujeesh K.S., and Home Guard Joy, along with locals, quickly cleared the area and ensured safety.

- Report emergencies promptly to the nearest control room
- Follow official safety guidelines and updates
