Thrissur City, Kerala: Thrissur City Police Commissioner Mr. Ilanko R., I.P.S., held a direct interactive session with students from eight colleges on 19.08.2025, as part of the first phase of the College Protection Group initiative. Around fifty participants, including students and faculty, actively engaged in discussions on strengthening campus safety, preventing drug abuse, and promoting public welfare activities.
During the meeting, students pledged their full support to police initiatives aimed at curbing drug abuse among youth. They also shared innovative suggestions on anti-drug awareness, while raising important issues related to women’s safety and student welfare during travel.
The program, which will continue until Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), plans to reach nearly 250 students each week, fostering stronger collaboration between campuses and the police. Commissioner Ilanko emphasized that such interactions would build a closer bond between students and law enforcement, ensuring a safe and peaceful academic environment.
Students have already welcomed the project “Neril” with great enthusiasm, marking the beginning of a dynamic police-student partnership for a brighter future.
