Despite the absence of strong leads, the investigation team meticulously traced the culprit, identified as Prakash Eerapa from Karnataka. When confronted, the accused attempted to influence the officers with bribes and later resorted to threats with the support of his associates.
Undeterred by intimidation, the Thumba Police, with the cooperation of Karnataka Police, took the accused into custody. Even when political pressure and organized groups tried to obstruct the process, the team stood firm, ensuring the accused was produced before the court with the support of the Legal Services Authority.
